Happy Birthday Bea!

Today is also Bea Arthur's birthday. As true to fashion, we dressed up in her honor...

I went as 'Broadway Bea'...

Here was my inspiration:

Stephanie as 'Casual Bea'...

Two years ago when Bea Arthur died, we threw a Wake/Birthday Party for her. We dressed up as senior citizens and went all out for her including a cake with candles. I took my Golden Girl dvds to work and they played throughout the day. We had a blast.

And guess what...Bea came to her Wake/Birthday Party! How could this be you might ask? Just take a gander at this picture:

Yep, there she is in the background. And nope, it was not planned or timed. The girl taking the picture could not have timed that if she tried. It was Bea making her presence known and letting us know that she was enjoying the festivities right along with us! A golden-paranormal-encounter! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it... :)

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my dad's birthday. Oh how I miss him...

This was his 40th birthday...

Happy Birthday Thomas Ball!

I can't believe that you are 25 today! Time flies when you're having fun...or maybe it should be time flies when you're no longer young. I can't believe how old you are, and the fact that I am older and always will be.

And so today, I say I am so thankful you were born. Though we fight and don't always see eye to eye (okay, rarely do we ever agree on anything), there is love there. If you ever question that just think of the pic of us at your missionary setting apart. Enough said.

Happy Birthday Jill!

Happy Birthday to one of the funniest human beings I've ever had the chance to meet! True story. I don't know if there is anyone out there that makes me laugh as hard as Jill does. She is a doll. I am so blessed to call her my friend.
(This picture was from one of our many 'ghost-busting-expeditions'. It was actually taken in the bathroom of the Rio Grande Restaurant. We never did see the blue lady that they say haunts the place...)

Happy 57th Birthday Peggy

Happy 57th Birthday Peggy!

Today we celebrate your big day and say we are thankful that you were born. You bring much humor to those around you. If it wern't for you, we wouldn't have words in our vocabulary like "Flampin Tube", "Bean Chip", "Hanged Out", "Nibbles", or "Text-eses". And we wouldn't know that "Rectum" is a part of your eye-ball, or that we need to put "Ranch Dressing" on our wounds. You are a funny one, Peggy Kapp Perry. Here is to 57 more fun-Febreze-filled years!

(As a side note:This picture was taken when she was 25ish and she gother ears pierced for her birthday. Best picture EVER.)

Blanche's Birthday

Happy belated Birthday Rue McClanahan (or should I say Blanche Deveraux)!!!

For any die-hard Golden Girls fan, this is a must to remember this day. The actual date was February 21st. But it wasn't until today, that my co-workers and I celebrated the big occasion. The party was complete with old lady attire, cake and ice cream. I think Rue would've enjoyed the shin-dig had she been able to fly in for it. Maybe next year...

Every day is someone's birthday. Make sure that on that day, you tell the birthday boy or girl how glad you are that they were born and how they've made your life more complete and brighter by being in it...

And so I say to you Ms. McClanahan...Thank you for being a friend, traveled down the road and back again. Your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidant...oh wait, that is the theme song...
You've given me hours upon hours of enjoyment as I've watched your show. Not to mention the priceless memories I have of watching you and 'the girls' with my G~Ma as a little girl. (Yes, it is perfectly normal for a six-year-old's favorite show to be about 4 old women living together...) Here is to wishing you 70 some odd more years of life!
